Key Features and Applications
PZ1154 is a halogen-free, self-fusion, rubber-based insulating tape designed for harsh environments:
Self-fusion property (the most critical feature):
When stretched and wrapped, the tape layers self-fuse into a seamless, one-piece rubber sleeve, without any sticky adhesive layers.
This provides excellent sealing and long-term reliability, preventing loosening or layer migration common with ordinary tapes.
Excellent water and moisture resistance:
After fusing, it forms a waterproof barrier, effectively preventing the intrusion of moisture, humidity, dust, and corrosive chemicals.
High electrical insulation performance:
Designed for insulation, splicing, and repair of medium and low voltage cables.
Typically withstands voltage ratings of 1000V or higher (see the latest technical data sheet for details).
High elasticity and mechanical protection:
It has good tensile strength and elasticity, accommodating cable bending and movement, and providing some mechanical cushioning and protection.
Wide operating temperature range:
Suitable for both high and low temperature environments, with stable performance.
Typical Applications
* Waterproof insulation sealing of cable joints and terminations (e.g., communication cables, power cables).
Repair and repair of cable insulation.
Splicing protection for medium and low voltage overhead lines, underground direct-buried or underwater cables.
Electrical insulation in harsh environments such as ships, rail transportation, and new energy (wind power, photovoltaic).
Sealing of telecommunications and network cables.
How to Use
* Surface Preparation: Ensure the cable joint is clean, dry, and free of oil.
Stretch Wrapping: Stretch the tape firmly (usually to approximately 50%-75% of its original width) to activate its self-fluxing properties.
Overlap Wrapping: Each turn should overlap the width of the previous turn by 50% (commonly known as “half-overlap”).
Forming a Protective Layer: After wrapping a sufficient number of layers, a uniform and robust rubber protective layer will be formed. For a completely waterproof seal, it is generally recommended to use PVC insulating tape or the provided packaging tape for mechanical protection on the outermost layer.
